# Quick tour

> A 5-minute walkthrough of the LightWork dashboard.

## In one minute

This page walks you through the main areas of the LightWork dashboard so you know where everything lives. After reading this, you will be able to navigate confidently between your inbox, knowledge base, properties, and settings.

***

## The sidebar

The left sidebar is your main navigation. It gives you access to every area of the platform:

* **Inbox** - all conversations across email and WhatsApp, organised by module.
* **Knowledge Base** - the information Felicity uses to answer resident questions.
* **Maintenance** - issue reports, work orders, and contractor coordination.
* **Compliance** - certificate renewal tracking and contractor/tenant coordination.
* **Properties** - your portfolio of properties and units.
* **CRM** - tenants, landlords, contractors, and prospects.
* **Settings** - channels, team, permissions, and account configuration.

***

## Inbox

The inbox is where you monitor and manage all conversations. Each conversation shows:

* The **resident name** and **property** associated with the message.
* The **channel** (email or WhatsApp) indicated by an icon.
* The **module** handling the conversation (Resident Desk, Prospects, or Maintenance).
* The **status** - whether Felicity is handling it, it is waiting for a response, or it has been escalated to your team.

You can filter conversations by module, status, channel, and team member. Clicking a conversation opens the full thread with message history and any actions Felicity has taken.

For more detail, see the [Inbox guide](/resident-desk/inbox).

***

## Knowledge base

The knowledge base is the source of truth Felicity uses to answer questions. You will see:

* A list of all your articles, organised by subject.
* The **scope** of each article (global, property-level, or unit-level).
* An **AI suggestions** queue where Felicity proposes new articles based on questions she could not answer.

You can add, edit, and delete articles directly from this page. For a full guide, see [Knowledge Base](/platform/knowledge-base).

***

## Properties

The properties section shows your portfolio. Each property has:

* Address and property details.
* Associated units (for multi-unit properties).
* Linked tenants and landlords.

You can add properties manually or have them synced from your property management system. See [Properties](/platform/properties) for details.

***

## CRM

The CRM gives you a unified view of all contacts:

* **Tenants** - current residents linked to properties and units.
* **Landlords** - property owners with their contact details and linked properties.
* **Contractors** - tradespeople available for maintenance work orders.
* **Prospects** - prospective tenants in the screening or viewing pipeline.

See [CRM](/platform/crm) for full details.

***

## Settings

Settings is where you configure LightWork for your organisation:

* **Channels** - connect and manage email and WhatsApp. See [Channels](/platform/channels).
* **Team** - invite members, assign roles, and configure permissions. See [Team and permissions](/platform/team-permissions).
* **Organisation** - company details, notification preferences, and compliance settings.
* **Integrations** - property management system connections. See [Integrations](/platform/integrations).
